Comedian Sanku’s Death Sparks Shock as Last Skit Depicts Life After Death

Nigerian comedian and skitmaker, popularly known as Sanku, has died in a fatal car accident along Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State.
The news of his death was confirmed on Monday by actor Yemi Elesho, who took to social media to mourn the loss.
Sanku’s passing has left fans and colleagues in disbelief, particularly as it comes just weeks after he released a skit in which he portrayed himself in heaven following his death.
In the video, he expressed disappointment at not seeing familiar faces in the afterlife and jokingly urged his partner to join him in hell so they could continue enjoying life together.
The tragic coincidence has triggered conversations online, with many describing the skit as an unsettling foreshadowing of his demise.
Following the crash, influencer Jidex shared footage of the wrecked vehicle, revealing that several passengers sustained injuries. Both Sanku and another victim were critically wounded, but the comedian later succumbed to his injuries.
Nollywood stars have also taken to social media to mourn. Actress Funmi Awelewa expressed her grief, writing:
“The pain, the effort, the strength, the struggle… walai nothing make sense. I’m heartbroken. Even film sef never come out! It does not make sense.”
Reacting to the tragedy, Jidex described it as painful, noting that Sanku’s death came just a day after the passing of Phyna’s sister, Ruth Otabor.
Fans and colleagues continue to pay tribute to the late comedian, whose humorous content brought joy to many but whose death has left the entertainment industry in mourning.
