Onuachu Frustrated as Trabzonspor Surrender Late Equaliser Against Samsunspor

Nigerian striker, Paul Onuachu has expressed his disappointment after Trabzonspor were held to a 1-1 draw by Samsunspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.

Onuachu gave the home side the lead in the 16th minute with a fine finish, continuing his impressive scoring form since returning from injury.

The towering forward looked set to be the match-winner until Trabzonspor conceded a late goal. Marius Mouandilmadji struck in the 88th minute for Samsunspor, denying Trabzonspor all three points and silencing the fans at the Papara Park in Trabzon.

The match statistics reflected a balanced contest, with Trabzonspor edging possession but failing to convert their dominance into a decisive result.

The draw means Trabzonspor drop crucial points in their pursuit of a top-four finish, while Samsunspor earned a morale-boosting result on the road.

Speaking after the game, Onuachu lamented the team’s inability to see out the victory, stressing the importance of maintaining focus until the final whistle. He noted that conceding so close to the end was a painful setback and urged his teammates to learn from the experience as the season progresses.

Onuachu’s performance, however, was one of the positives for Trabzonspor. His early strike once again underlined his importance to Abdullah Avcı’s side, with the Nigerian continuing to be a key figure in the club’s attacking line.

Trabzonspor will now look to bounce back in their next league fixture as they seek to regain momentum, while Onuachu has vowed to keep giving his best to help the team achieve its objectives.
