Ibas Charges Rivers LG Chairmen to Prioritize Selfless Service
Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), has charged newly elected Local Government Chairmen to prioritize selfless service and grassroots development in their areas. While swearing in the chairmen-elect at Government House in Port Harcourt, Ibas emphasized that public office is a sacred trust, not a means for personal gain.
He urged the chairmen to adopt transparent, accountable, and reform-driven leadership, focusing on delivering measurable services that improve citizens’ lives. Ibas highlighted the significance of peace and security, stating that stability is crucial for progress.
He also encouraged the chairmen to support small businesses, upgrade critical infrastructure, and invest in education.
The administrator commended the electorate for their active participation in the August 30, 2025, local government elections, describing the process as transparent and credible. Ibas thanked outgoing Council Administrators for their service and wished them well in their future endeavors.
