EPL: Emmanuel Dennis Parts Ways With Nottingham Forest After Mutual Agreement

Nigerian forward, Emmanuel Dennis has officially left Nottingham Forest following the mutual termination of his contract, the Premier League club announced on Sunday.

In a short statement on its official website, Forest said: “Nottingham Forest can confirm that Emmanuel Dennis has left the Club following the mutual termination of his contract. We wish Emmanuel well for the future.”

The 27-year-old striker joined the Reds in August 2022 from Watford for a reported fee of around £20 million, shortly after Forest’s long-awaited return to the Premier League.

Expectations were high given his impressive record with the Hornets, where he netted 10 goals in the 2021/22 campaign.

However, Dennis found it difficult to replicate that form at the City Ground. He featured in 19 league matches during his debut season, scoring twice and providing three assists, but was unable to cement a regular place in Steve Cooper’s starting lineup.

His struggles for consistent minutes eventually saw him loaned out to Turkish side İstanbul Başakşehir in the 2023/24 season.

With competition for attacking places intensifying at Forest, both parties have now agreed to part ways ahead of the new campaign.

Dennis, who has nine caps for the Nigerian Super Eagles, will now be seeking a new chapter in his career as he looks to reignite his form and secure regular playing time.

His departure marks the end of a two-year spell at the City Ground that never quite lived up to the promise with which it began.
