Dangote Group Mourns Phyna’s Sister, Ruth Otabor, After Fatal  Accident Involving Company Truck

 

The Dangote Group has condoled with the family of reality TV star, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, over the tragic passing of her younger sister, Ruth Otabor.

 

Ruth, who was critically injured in a road accident involving one of the company’s trucks in Auchi, Edo State, succumbed to her injuries despite efforts to save her life.

 

In a statement released via its official X handle on Sunday and signed by the management, Dangote Group expressed deep sorrow at the incident, describing it as a painful loss.

 

“The management of Dangote Group sympathizes with Miss Ijeoma Otabor (Phyna), her family, and all those affected by the unfortunate demise of Miss Ruth Otabor following the recent road accident involving one of our trucks. We share in their grief during this difficult time,” the statement read in part.

 

The company disclosed that before Ruth’s death, it had initiated arrangements to fly her to India for specialized medical care, pending medical clearance from her doctors.

 

Unfortunately, she passed away before the transfer could be effected.

 

The tragic development has sparked an outpouring of condolences from fans, friends, and colleagues of Phyna, who won the 2022 edition of Big Brother Naija.

 

Dangote Group further assured the public of its commitment to supporting the bereaved family while reaffirming its dedication to upholding the highest safety standards in its operations.
