Rivers Local Government Elections Hit Snag Due to Late Arrival of Materials

The local government council elections in Woji Ward 6 of Obio/Akpor area in Rivers State faced a setback on Saturday due to the late arrival of election materials.
As of 10:12 a.m., several polling units had not received the necessary materials, resulting in a delay in the accreditation process.
The affected polling units included Units 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 15, 29, and 30. Only a few voters were present at these units, and there was a noticeable absence of security personnel.
Some voters expressed optimism about the electoral process despite the delay. One voter, Kingsley Amadi, attributed the low turnout to the political crisis that preceded the election.
Another voter, Oroma, expressed confidence that the process would reflect the will of the people.
The elections are being conducted across the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State, with voters casting their ballots for chairmanship and councillorship positions. The delay in the arrival of election materials has raised concerns about the smooth conduct of the elections..
