Abdulsalami, Obasanjo, Jonathan, Ali Pate, Wike to Inaugurate Abuja Care365 Health Hub

Abuja is set to host a landmark event in Nigeria’s health sector as some of the country’s most prominent leaders prepare to commission the Care365 Health Hub, a state-of-the-art healthcare innovation centre.
The inauguration is scheduled for Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
The high-profile ceremony will bring together former Heads of State and leading public officials.
General Abdulsalami Abubakar will serve as the Chief Host and Chairman of the project, while former President Olusegun Obasanjo will chair the occasion. The official commissioning will be performed by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, with former President Goodluck Jonathan attending as Guest of Honour.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is also among the dignitaries expected at the event.
The Care365 Health Hub is a technology-driven initiative designed to revolutionize healthcare delivery in Nigeria. Originally conceptualized in the United States, the model is being introduced locally to improve access, affordability, and quality of medical services.
According to Ngozi Joseph Odumuko, the founder and chief executive of Care365, the hub will unveil four key innovations:
• Health Monitoring Kiosks, which allow individuals to quickly check vital signs such as blood pressure, glucose levels, oxygen saturation, and body mass index.
• Mobile Clinics, designed to bring healthcare directly to rural and underserved communities.
• A Telemedicine Mobile and Web Application, enabling virtual consultations, e-prescriptions, and digital management of medical records.
• A Specialist Doctors Pool, comprising experts from the United States, Europe, Canada, Asia, and Nigeria, who will provide specialist services and share best practices.
Organisers say the initiative aims to democratize access to healthcare by blending physical and digital solutions.
With mobile units and telemedicine services, patients in remote areas will be able to connect with world-class specialists without leaving their communities.
The project is also expected to complement government efforts to strengthen the health sector, particularly in preventive care and primary healthcare delivery.
By integrating international expertise with local innovation, Care365 hopes to position Nigeria as a leader in health technology adoption across Africa.
As expectations build ahead of the launch, stakeholders believe the Care365 Health Hub could mark a turning point in bridging Nigeria’s healthcare gaps, especially at a time when the sector continues to face challenges of underfunding, manpower shortages, and limited access in rural regions.
