Katsina Gov Launches Special Schools for Gifted, Underprivileged Children

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has unveiled plans for the recruitment of students into the newly established special schools across the state, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to inclusive education.

According to the governor, the initiative aims to provide opportunities for all children regardless of their social or economic background. He noted that the schools will place emphasis on merit-based admission, while giving priority to exceptionally gifted students from poor and disadvantaged families.

Governor Radda stressed that the special schools are designed to nurture talent, encourage academic excellence, and ensure that no child is denied the chance to maximize their potential due to financial limitations.

“This is a major step in our drive to transform Katsina’s education sector and build a generation of skilled, innovative leaders,” he said.

The project is expected to complement ongoing reforms in the state’s education system and strengthen efforts to reduce inequality in access to quality learning.
