Former APC Chieftain Decamps, Slams Tinubu’s Leadership

A former senator and key figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kabiru Garba Marafa, has announced his resignation from the party, citing President Bola Tinubu’s leadership style as “use-and-dump.”
Marafa, who played a crucial role in delivering Zamfara State to Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election, expressed his disillusionment with the president’s administration.
In a communique issued after a meeting in Kaduna, Marafa’s consultative forum resolved to decamp from the APC, citing sustained injustice, mistrust, marginalization, and deliberate neglect of Zamfara State and its people.
The forum, which comprises Marafa’s structure across 147 wards in Zamfara State, expressed grave concern over the deteriorating security, political, and developmental conditions in the state.
The communique highlighted the federal government’s failure to address the persistent kidnappings and killings in Zamfara State, despite explicit promises made during the 2023 presidential campaign.
The meeting also noted the politicization of insecurity in the state, citing the recent House of Assembly bye-election in Kaura Namoda, where villages that suffered brutal attacks received no federal government support.
