Katsina Governor Pledges Support to Village Attacked by Bandits

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has visited Mantau Village in Malumfashi Local Government Area, where a recent bandit attack resulted in the deaths of 32 worshippers.
During his condolence visit, Governor Radda announced an immediate relief package of N500,000 for each affected household.
The governor expressed deep sorrow over the attack, describing the scene as heartbreaking.
He noted that the community was targeted in reprisal after villagers repelled bandits, killing seven and seizing their weapons. The attack resulted in 20 deaths inside a mosque, 12 outside, and 20 houses burnt.
Additionally, 76 villagers were kidnapped but were later rescued by the Nigerian Air Force.
Governor Radda has directed the Ministry of Works to assess the condition of the Mantau road and plans to build a new school and hospital.
He also promised to renovate the mosque, rebuild destroyed houses, and provide assistance to the families of the deceased.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting the people, emphasizing that security is a matter of humanity, not politics. He expressed confidence that with the support of the people, the state will overcome the security challenges.
