LASIEC Denies Unpaid Wages Allegations to Ad Hoc Staff

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission has refuted claims that it failed to pay ad hoc staff who worked on the July 12 Local Government Elections.

In a statement, LASIEC’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Tope Ojo, said all duly verified staff were paid according to the established schedule, with payments completed within the last two weeks.

Ojo explained that only a few outstanding cases exist due to incomplete or incorrect bank details. Electoral officers have been advised to work with the affected staff to resolve the issue.

Verification is ongoing to ensure prompt payment to those with corrected details.

The commission urged the media to avoid sensationalism and noted that it received no formal complaints from ad hoc staff regarding unpaid wages. LASIEC emphasized its commitment to transparency, integrity, and fairness in its operations.
