President Tinubu Saddened By Abuja-Kaduna Train Derailment

President Bola Tinubu has conveyed his distress over the recent derailment incident on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line.

In a statement shared on his X account, Tinubu revealed he is closely monitoring the situation despite being in Brazil.

He extended his heartfelt prayers to the injured passengers, their families, and all those affected by the distressing incident.

According to Tinubu, the Nigerian Railway Corporation is actively addressing the situation. He assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The President awaits a comprehensive briefing to facilitate swift action and provide necessary support to those impacted.

This incident has raised concerns about the safety and reliability of the rail system, which has been a crucial mode of transportation between Abuja and Kaduna. Tinubu’s administration has been working to improve the country’s railway infrastructure, including the Abuja-Kaduna rail line, which was completed and commissioned during his predecessor’s tenure.

The President’s commitment to enhancing the rail system is evident in his efforts to complete ongoing projects, such as the Lagos-Ibadan-Abuja rail project. Tinubu has assured investors, including the China Railway Construction Corporation, that their investments in Nigeria are secure and that his administration will strengthen the business environment.
