Akwa Ibom Empowers 7,688 Rural Dwellers With N10bn Support
Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, says his administration has provided a N10 billion lifeline and other incentives to 7,688 rural dwellers across the state’s 10 federal constituencies.
The governor made the disclosure at the grand finale of the Town Square Meeting/Empowerment Series held at Etinan Federal Constituency, marking the end of the six-month-long initiative.
According to him, the intervention cut across farming, trading, equipment support, vehicles, and mini buses, aimed at boosting rural livelihoods and strengthening local economies.
At the Etinan event, which held at the Nsit Ubium Local Government Secretariat, Ikot Edibon, Eno revealed that 844 beneficiaries from the constituency received empowerment grants worth N361.4 million.
He noted that all beneficiaries were transparently selected from the ARISE portal and urged more residents, particularly youths, to take advantage of the platform to access future opportunities.
