Shock in Anambra as Father Chains Son for Five Years, Claims He Was in UK

The Anambra State Police Command has launched an investigation into a shocking case of abuse after a man was discovered to have kept his son in chains for five years while deceiving neighbours that the young man had travelled to the United Kingdom.
The victim, identified as Chigbo, popularly called Agudo, is a native of Igboukwu community in Aguata Local Government Area. He was reportedly locked up in a secluded hut within the family compound, where he endured years of neglect and inhumane treatment.
Residents of the community were thrown into shock when a viral video surfaced on social media showing the moment locals rescued the frail young man from captivity.
Eyewitnesses said the father had consistently told people that his son had travelled abroad, hiding the truth of his ordeal.
Confirming the development, the Anambra State Police Command said it has opened an investigation to uncover the circumstances behind the unlawful confinement and to bring those responsible to justice.
The disturbing incident has sparked outrage among Nigerians, with many calling for accountability and stronger measures to prevent such acts of cruelty.
