NDLEA Nabs 50-Year-Old Fashion Designer for Cocaine Trafficking

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 50-year-old fashion designer and widow, Ifeoma Henrietta Ezewuike, for attempting to traffic 1.3 kilograms of cocaine.
Ezewuike, who owns Golden Star Creation in Lagos, used a fake pregnancy disguise to conceal the illicit substance.
According to the NDLEA, Ezewuike was apprehended at a bus terminal in Yaba, Lagos, while trying to deliver the cocaine to customers in Abuja. A follow-up operation at her residence led to the recovery of 200 grams of cutting agent used in processing cocaine.
Ezewuike claimed she inherited the drug trade from her late husband, who died two years ago.
However, she has been in the fashion business for over 20 years.
The NDLEA’s arrest of Ezewuike is part of a larger crackdown on drug trafficking in Nigeria. In recent operations, the agency has seized large quantities of illicit substances, including cannabis and opioids, in various parts of the country.
The NDLEA’s efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse have yielded significant results, with several suspects arrested and charged to court. The agency’s ongoing operations demonstrate its commitment to protecting the nation from the scourge of illicit drugs.
