We are all working together, Remi Tinubu tells Lagos politicians

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged politicians across political divides in Lagos State to prioritise the needs of the people above party affiliations in their service to the nation.
Speaking on Friday during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting with traditional rulers, lawmakers, political leaders and religious figures in Lagos, Mrs Tinubu stressed that genuine governance should be anchored on unity and collective responsibility rather than partisan interests.
“Once we win an election, people should put party aside and let’s run the government,” she said. “The government involves people and through the grace of God, the Renewed Hope Initiative will be able to change the mindset of opposition states.
We are all working together to make sure that this programme gets to the grassroots.”
The meeting, convened under the banner of her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), focused on deepening grassroots engagement, strengthening collaboration among stakeholders, and ensuring that developmental programmes reach every community in the state.
Mrs Tinubu emphasised that her office is committed to listening to the yearnings of the people and responding effectively. She also pledged to work with traditional rulers, religious leaders, and political actors to address concerns raised during the session.
According to her, unity and cooperation are vital in driving the administration’s vision of renewed hope and sustainable progress.
She noted that grassroots participation will play a decisive role in fostering inclusive development across Lagos and other states of the federation.
Community leaders at the event lauded the First Lady’s call for unity and her commitment to building bridges across political divides, describing the initiative as a step towards strengthening democratic governance and social harmony.
