The late Emir of Zuru, Major General Muhammad Sami (Retd), has been buried in his hometown of Zuru, Kebbi State, following a dignified funeral ceremony.

The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, led a delegation of prominent figures, including the Sultan of Sokoto, the Emir of Kano, and the Kebbi State Governor, to pay their last respects to the late monarch.

The funeral prayers were conducted at the Zuru Central Mosque, attended by thousands of mourners, including traditional rulers, government officials, and business leaders.

The Emir was later laid to rest at his personal residence in the presence of the Vice President, Sultan Abubakar, Emir Sanusi, and other dignitaries.

During a condolence visit to the Emir’s family, Vice President Shettima described the late monarch’s passing as a significant loss to the nation. He conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s condolences to the Kebbi State Government, the people of Zuru Emirate, and Northern Nigeria, praising the late Emir’s dedication to serving the nation.

The late Emir, who passed away at the age of 81 in a London hospital, is survived by four wives and seven children. May God grant him eternal rest and give his family the strength to bear this loss.
