Kwara State Ministry of Solid Minerals Development Urges Licence Holders to Submit Reports

The Kwara State Ministry of Solid Minerals Development has issued a reminder to exploration licence holders to submit their quarterly progress reports for the first and second quarters of 2025.

 

The ministry emphasized that licence holders who fail to submit their reports by the end of July 2025 will face serious penalties for non-compliance.

 

Exploration licence holders are required to submit reports for Q1 (January – March 2025) and Q2 (April – June 2025) immediately. Quarry Lease, Small Scale Mining Lease, and Mining Lease licence holders must submit their Minimum Work Programs alongside quarterly reports where applicable. Three copies of the report should be submitted to the Director, Mines Inspectorate Department, Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, Wuse 2, Abuja.

 

The Kwara State Government has been working to enhance investment opportunities in the mining sector. In line with this effort, the government established five Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) to boost the state’s mining industry and increase internally generated revenue. The state has significant mineral resources, particularly in the northern regions, and aims to combat illegal mining activities.
