PDP Chieftain Hails Party’s By-Election Win, Says PDP Poised to Usher in New Leadership

Shina Peller, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has commended the party’s victory in the recent Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election.

Peller attributed the win to the trust reposed in Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration in Oyo State, describing the outcome as a significant milestone for the PDP.

Peller believes that the PDP is poised to usher in a new system of leadership that Nigerians have long desired. He praised Makinde’s Omituntun agenda for creating opportunities for young people, noting that the party’s candidate, Folajimi Oyekunle, reflects the younger generation of leaders being groomed in the state.

The former federal lawmaker highlighted that about 70 percent of Makinde’s government comprises youths, setting a precedent for a new wave of leadership that aligns with the aspirations of the younger generation. “You can’t create change by fighting the present system; you create change by establishing a new functional system that will make the present one obsolete,” he added.

Peller urged Nigerians to look forward to the PDP’s national convention in November, assuring that it will produce a leadership that resonates with the people’s expectations.

The convention is expected to be held in Ibadan, further solidifying the city’s importance in the party’s plans for the future.
