Uba Sani Slams Ex-Officials, Says ‘They Left Nothing, Just Frustration

Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has dismissed claims that his administration received ₦730 billion for local governments, describing the allegation as “baseless lies” by frustrated former office holders.

Speaking during a media briefing, the governor challenged those making the accusation to produce evidence, insisting that his government remains transparent and accountable.

“The commissioner for information will hand this matter to the legal team for advice. But it’s not surprising. These are faces everybody knows already. They are frustrated and belong to the past,” Sani said.

The governor specifically took aim at former officials, including former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai and former Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami, accusing them of leaving the country in disarray during their time in power.

“What did they achieve in eight years? They insulted traditional rulers, sacked workers, and left behind uncompleted projects inflated with questionable figures. They never added value for over 30 years,” he stated.

Sani contrasted their record with what he described as his administration’s achievements in uniting Kaduna and restoring peace.

“Today, Kaduna is united. There’s no destruction, no killings. Even stakeholders who never came to condole me when my daughter was killed can see that we have brought stability. We have elders, pastors, bishops all working together for peace,” he added.

He also questioned the integrity of past projects, citing one foreign-funded initiative allegedly worth $350 million, which he claimed was not worth more than $100 million.

“These people have nothing to offer. They are only frustrated because their time is over,” the governor said.
