Nigerian Army to Conduct Training Exercise in Gombe

The Nigerian Army’s 301 Artillery Regiment (General Support) in Gombe State is set to conduct its second scheduled Range Classification Exercise for 2025.
The training will take place from Thursday to Friday at the regiment’s Small Arms Range in Liji area of the state.
The exercise aims to sharpen the professional skills of soldiers and assess their combat readiness.
According to Lieutenant Kingsley Ugwuoke, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, the training is vital for the army’s operational preparedness. It will refresh soldiers’ skills in weapon handling, enhancing their proficiency in operations and helping to determine the level of troops’ training and preparedness for battle.
Residents of Liji and surrounding communities have been assured that there is no cause for alarm during the two-day exercise. However, farmers, hunters, and other residents within the range area are advised to stay away from the designated shooting zone for their safety. The regiment has urged the media and community leaders to help disseminate this information widely to ensure compliance and safeguard lives.
The Nigerian Army remains committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism and operational effectiveness while ensuring the safety of civilians during training activities, according to Ugwuoke.
