Umo Eno Reaffirms Commitment to Education, Pledges More Model Schools

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reiterated his administration’s determination to transform the education sector through the construction of model schools across the state.
Speaking on Saturday at a quarterly meeting of the Victory High School Old Students’ Association (1981 set) in Ikeja, Lagos, Eno said his government is currently building model primary and secondary schools in each of the state’s three senatorial districts.
He explained that the initiative was aimed at guaranteeing qualitative and comprehensive learning for children in Akwa Ibom.
“The goal is to ensure that our children have access to world-class facilities that will prepare them for future opportunities,” the governor said.
Eno, who attended the event to reconnect with his former classmates, noted that his alma mater played a significant role in shaping his leadership journey. He was also conferred with the title of Grand Patron by the association.
The governor expressed gratitude to members of the 1981 set for their support during his governorship campaign and the funeral of his late wife, Pastor Patience Eno. He further urged alumni of various institutions to give back to their schools, stressing that individual success is often rooted in the solid foundation provided by one’s alma mater.
President of the 1981 set, Pastor J.K. Abiodun, said the gathering was convened to advance the association’s objectives and celebrate Governor Eno, who once served as the Senior Prefect of the school.
Other speakers, including the Global President of the Victory High School Alumni, Taiwo Salami, commended the 1981 set for its coordination and contributions to the school community.
