Apostolic Church Rebukes Fatoyinbo Over Derogatory Comments on Apostle Babalola

The Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) has responded to comments made by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo regarding Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, the first General Evangelist of the church.

In a statement signed by Pastor Ade Alawode, Director of Publicity, CAC, the church described Fatoyinbo’s comments as “insensitive and ill-informed.”

The statement highlighted Apostle Babalola’s anointing, ministry, and legacy, which spanned Western and Midwestern Nigeria and extended to Ghana. According to the CAC, Babalola was blessed but not materialistic or greedy, and he lived a life of sacrificial service.

The CAC corrected several misrepresentations made by Fatoyinbo about Apostle Babalola’s life and ministry. These include his calling by God, his lifestyle, and his family. The statement noted that Apostle Babalola’s children are alive and serving the Lord in their respective churches.

The CAC also rebuked Fatoyinbo’s brand of prosperity theology, which it described as biblically flawed. The statement cited scriptures that warn against covetousness and the love of money, emphasizing that a believer’s anointing is measured by sacrificial service, not material accumulation.

The CAC concluded by calling on Fatoyinbo to reflect on his teachings and to walk in humility, reverence, and godly wisdom. The statement emphasized the importance of rightly dividing the Word of Truth and avoiding messages that promote greed and corruption.
