Tiwa Savage Says She’s Still Searching for Young, Wealthy Man Without ‘Baby Mama’ Drama

Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has opened up about her relationship status, revealing that she is still actively searching for love despite being one of the most celebrated female artists in Africa.
In a recent podcast interview making waves on social media, the 45-year-old singer admitted she remains single and believes her high standards could be a key reason.
“I’m still looking for someone’s son. I don’t have any [partner]. And I think it is because I’m asking for specific things. Maybe I need to narrow my spec down,” Savage said candidly.
The “Somebody’s Son” hitmaker, who is also a mother of one, explained that her ideal man must be young, financially successful, and free from the complications of having children from previous relationships.
“I’m actually looking for someone who has a private plane, young; someone who doesn’t have baby mama drama because I can’t deal with that,” she added.
Savage’s remarks sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans applauding her for knowing what she wants and refusing to settle, while others questioned whether such a specific partner profile might limit her chances.
Since her divorce from music executive Tunji “Teebillz” Balogun in 2018, Tiwa Savage has largely kept her personal relationships away from the public eye, focusing instead on her thriving career.
Over the past decade, the singer has grown into a global Afrobeats icon, performing on some of the world’s biggest stages, collaborating with international acts, and amassing millions of fans worldwide.
However, she admits that balancing fame, motherhood, and the search for a life partner is no easy feat.
Despite the challenges, Tiwa Savage says she is not giving up on love but on her own terms.
