“ The Biggest Project of My Life”: Toke Makinwa Announces Pregnancy

Popular Nigerian media personality, author, and entrepreneur, Toke Makinwa has announced that she is expecting her first child, describing it as “the biggest project of my life” and “the highest calling ever.”

The 40-year-old broke the news in an emotional Instagram video, revealing her baby bump while dressed in a flowing floral gown.

In her caption, Makinwa expressed deep gratitude to God, saying the journey to this moment had been filled with waiting, faith, and transformation.

“The biggest project of my life, the highest calling ever! 2025… what a difference a year can make. Dear God, you did this one. You have completely changed my life. You opened this door that nobody can shut,” she wrote.

She reflected on her previous doubts and how her faith had been tested:

“All that time I was convinced you had forgotten me… you worked on my heart posture to get me ready for the biggest blessing and the highest calling. You truly are the God of time and chance.”

Makinwa, who has built a successful career as a radio host, YouTuber, actress, and brand influencer, said that none of her past achievements compare to the role of becoming a mother. Addressing her unborn child, whom she affectionately called “my bug,” she wrote:

“I cannot wait to meet you. You’ve made me the happiest person on earth, baby. Thank you for choosing me.”

The announcement sparked an outpouring of love and congratulations from fans and celebrities alike. Within two hours of posting, the news had generated over 40,000 comments, with the figure surpassing 60,000 by the five-hour mark.

Among the first to celebrate her were Funke Akindele, Simi, Timini Egbuson, AY Comedian, Toyin Abraham, Hilda Baci, and Mo Abudu, all sending heartfelt messages of joy and support.

Makinwa’s revelation has been widely celebrated not just as a personal milestone but also as a symbol of hope and encouragement, particularly for women who have faced delays in starting their motherhood journey.
