Labour Campaign DG Defends Tinubu, Warns Against Disrupting APC Stability

The self-styled Director General of the Labour Campaign for 2020, Comrade Olufemi Aderibigbe, speaking on behalf of supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has issued a fiery defense of the administration, warning against attempts by party insiders to undermine the government.
Addressing what he described as “unnecessary agitation” from some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aderibigbe reminded political actors of Nigeria’s long-standing informal power rotation arrangement between the North and South a system he credited with preserving relative peace in the country.
“We just concluded eight years under the late President Muhammadu Buhari may Allah forgive his soul. Asiwaju is only in his second year, and yet some people, especially those who benefited from APC, are already plotting to distort the government,” he said.
Aderibigbe accused some former governors, ministers, commissioners, and advisers who served under Buhari of enjoying the party’s success for years, only to now turn against it during their “political sabbatical.”
He stressed that the Tinubu administration inherited many of Nigeria’s present challenges, from decayed infrastructure to struggling schools and hospitals, and was actively working to fix them.
“Asiwaju did not make the bad rules; he is fixing them. He did not spoil your schools or hospitals; he inherited them. The same applies to Babu. Yet some shamelessly use these inherited problems as campaign weapons against us,” he declared.
The DG credited the administration for improvements in national security, noting that previously unsafe areas such as Adinu, Kazimboru, Chimbi, Iseu, and Zazaga were now witnessing business revival.
While acknowledging that Nigeria’s economy had suffered under past mismanagement, he insisted that the APC government was rebranding and rebuilding for the benefit of all Nigerians.
“We expect loyalty and gratitude for a smooth transition from APC to APC, not sabotage. I have not probed anyone or sought revenge for what I inherited. Let sleeping dogs lie,” he warned.
Aderibigbe concluded by urging party unity ahead of upcoming elections, particularly in the state assembly race in Iran, and dismissing attempts to weaponize inherited challenges against the Tinubu government.
