Kemi Afolabi Narrates Her Battle with Lupus, Discloses She Wrote Her Will After

Nollywood actress, Kemi Afolabi has shared the traumatic experience she endured while struggling with lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that attacks the body’s organs and tissues.
In a candid interview, Afolabi revealed that she was at the brink of death, unable to eat or drink, and relied on oxygen to breathe.
The actress credited her survival to her faith and the support of her loved ones. She recounted how she had prepared for the worst, purchasing a burial site and writing her will, but ultimately attributed her recovery to God’s grace.
Afolabi’s journey began with intense joint pain, which she described as more severe than childbirth pain.
After multiple misdiagnoses at a local hospital, she sought medical care abroad and was finally diagnosed with lupus.
The disease has no cure, and Afolabi manages it with medication and regular trips abroad for treatment. She disclosed that she receives daily injections and has had to adjust her lifestyle, including limiting her time under bright lights.
Afolabi also spoke about the emotional toll of her illness, revealing that hurtful comments from others had a profound impact on her.
