Tinubu Meets Soludo at Presidential Villa Ahead of Anambra Poll

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday warmly received Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja in what has been described as a strategic political engagement ahead of the November 8 governorship election in the state.

The meeting, which was held behind closed doors, comes just three months after President Tinubu’s official visit to Anambra, during which he commissioned key development projects executed under Soludo’s administration.

Those projects, widely praised for their scale and impact, have been central to Soludo’s bid for a second term under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

While details of the discussions were not made public, political observers believe the visit could signal a warming of relations between the federal government and the Anambra governor, potentially paving the way for greater collaboration on infrastructure, investment, and security initiatives in the state.

The timing has also fuelled speculation that the governor may be seeking presidential goodwill or policy support ahead of the polls.

Tinubu’s reception of Soludo was described as cordial, with both leaders exchanging pleasantries before proceeding to the meeting.

According to the Voice of Nigeria, the encounter reflects a shared interest in fostering development in the South-East and maintaining open lines of communication between Abuja and Awka.

The November election is expected to be keenly contested, and the optics of this high-level meeting are likely to be closely watched by both political allies and opponents as the campaign season gathers momentum.
