Mustapha Denies Links to Opposition Alliance

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has firmly refuted claims linking him to any alliance with opposition political parties.

The former top government official, who once served as the deputy national chairman of the now-defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), said he had no discussions or involvement with individuals working towards any anti-APC political arrangement.

“I am not in any opposition alliance, and I am not in any discussion with those who are involved,” Mustapha stated. “As the deputy national chairman of the ACN, the largest political party with six governors at the time of the merger and the formation of the All Progressives Congress, I can rightly claim that I am one of the founding fathers of the governing party.”

Reaffirming his loyalty to the APC, Mustapha stressed that his long-standing contribution to the party’s emergence as Nigeria’s ruling political force leaves no room for him to abandon it.

“I cannot, therefore, in all reasonableness, walk away from a party I helped to form. If our party has problems, as all the other parties do, we will stay in the party and fix those problems. We don’t solve problems by decamping to other parties,” he said.

He argued that party loyalty demands working through internal disagreements, noting that switching allegiance often fails to address fundamental issues.
