Ekiti State University VC Mourns Passing of Alara of Aramoko Ekiti

The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, has paid tribute to the late Alara of Aramoko Ekiti, Oba Olu Adegoke Adeyemi, who passed away on Saturday at the age of 82.

The monarch, who served as the university’s Chancellor, was remembered for his wisdom, leadership, and commitment to his community.

Professor Ayodele described Oba Adeyemi as a tower of strength and a committed provider to his people, whose words of advice and guidance were always invaluable.

The Vice Chancellor expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Alara-in-Council, the Oloris, children, and the entire Oba Adegoke Adeyemi family on the loss of their patriarch.

The VC noted that Oba Adeyemi’s departure is a significant loss not only to Aramoko Kingdom, where he reigned for 16 years, but also to the university, Ekiti State, and the entire Yoruba nation. He praised the late monarch for his immense experience, wisdom, and understanding of Yoruba history and royalty, which earned him a reputation as a golden king and an institution.

Oba Adeyemi, a former Permanent Secretary in the old Ondo State, will be remembered for his dedication to his community and his role as a father figure to many.

The university community mourns the loss of a revered leader and a true statesman.
