ECOWAS Youth Parliament Honours Changchangi with Global Philanthropic Award

The ECOWAS Youth Parliament (EYP) has conferred a global philanthropic award on Ambassador Dr. Krystal Changchangi, founder of the Dr. Krystal Changchangi Foundation, in recognition of her contributions to social transformation and youth development.

The ceremony, held in Abuja, saw the EYP commend Changchangi for her “uprightness, astuteness, sagacity, doggedness, excellence, and diligent discharge of duties with absolute fairness and accountability.”

The award citation also highlighted her “immense contribution to social transformation” across communities.

Over the past year, the Dr. Krystal Changchangi Foundation has undertaken several initiatives targeted at empowering young people. In 2024, the foundation awarded scholarships to 687 students, organised sporting competitions such as para-soccer, lawn tennis, and volleyball for children in the Federal Capital Territory, and provided educational support to 50 pupils at a secondary school in Anambra State.

Other interventions by the foundation include outreach programmes for minority, low-income, and physically challenged youths, with a focus on fostering inclusivity and creating opportunities for personal and academic growth.

The ECOWAS Youth Parliament, which engages young leaders across the West African subregion, noted that the honour was part of its effort to celebrate individuals whose work embodies the values of service, excellence, and regional development.
