Nigeria’s Non-Oil Exports Surge to $3.225 Billion in First Half of 2025

Nigeria’s non-oil exports have recorded a significant growth, reaching $3.225 billion in the first half of 2025. This represents a 19.59% increase compared to the $2.696 billion recorded in the same period last year. The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) disclosed this in its First Half-Year Progress Report on Nigeria’s non-oil export performance.

The growth in non-oil exports is attributed to strong global demand for Nigerian products, particularly in emerging markets such as India, Brazil, Vietnam, and other African countries. The volume of shipments also increased to 4.04 million metric tonnes from 3.83 million metric tonnes in the first half of 2024.

In the first quarter of 2025, non-oil exports were valued at $1.791 billion, representing a 24.75% increase from $1.436 billion in Q1 2024. The volume of exports also rose to 2.416 million metric tonnes, up 24.3% from 1.937 million metric tonnes in Q1 2024.

The NEPC’s efforts to boost non-oil exports are yielding results, with the council’s “Double Your Exports” campaign contributing to the growth. The council is working with stakeholders to increase the volume and value of non-oil exports, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
