FRSC Cracks Down on Motorcyclists Without Helmets in Ondo

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ondo State has intensified efforts to enforce helmet use among motorcyclists, warning that those caught riding without helmets on highways will face arrest, impoundment, and prosecution.
FRSC Sector Commander Dr. Samuel Ibitoye emphasized that most crashes involving motorcyclists without helmets result in severe injuries, including skull fractures, broken limbs, and thighs. He urged riders to prioritize safety and use crash helmets when riding on highways.
Ibitoye specifically cautioned traditionalists, religious leaders, and titleholders against riding motorcycles without helmets, stressing that no title or tradition is worth risking one’s life. “Crashes don’t know religion, tradition, or titles; it takes you as a human being,” he warned.
The FRSC commander emphasized that safety should be the top priority for motorcyclists, advising them to wear crash helmets or consider alternative modes of transportation if they don’t want to wear helmets. “Don’t get yourself killed unexpectedly,” he urged.
