Rose Dung Takes Over as New CP of Lagos Special Fraud Unit

Rose Dung has officially assumed office as the 32nd Commissioner of Police (CP) in charge of the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Lagos Command.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the unit’s spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ovie Ewhubare.

According to Ewhubare, Dung’s appointment follows the elevation of her predecessor, Ronke Okunade, to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).

CP Dung, a seasoned police officer, hails from Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the former Bendel State University, Ekpoma now known as Ambrose Alli University.

She joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and underwent her foundational training at the Police Academy Annex in Kaduna. Upon completion, she was posted to the Abia State Police Command.

Since then, CP Dung has served in various commands and formations across the country, earning recognition for her professionalism, leadership, and commitment to duty.

Her new role at the Special Fraud Unit places her at the helm of a critical arm of the Nigeria Police Force responsible for investigating sophisticated financial crimes, economic fraud, and cybercrime.

The SFU is expected to benefit from her extensive experience as it intensifies efforts to combat fraud-related offences in Nigeria.
