Kogi State ADC Chapter Insist on Expelling Erstwhile Chairman

The turmoil within the Kogi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has escalated, as the State Working Committee (SWC) on Monday reiterated the expulsion of their erstwhile state chairman, Kingsley Ogga, dismissing his alleged reinstatement as mere fantasy.

This declaration was made during a convening of the State Working Committee and principal stakeholders at Lily Hotel, Lokoja.

Addressing journalists post-meeting, the State Public Relations Officer, Mr. Johnson Tayo, affirmed that the party at the state echelon will not affiliate with the Coalition Movement, as it fails to embody the authentic aspirations of party members.

The faction led by Ogga’s rumored suspension of the House of Representatives member for Yagba Federal Constituency, Leke Abejide, was deemed absurd, with the party asserting that no such resolution was enacted.

“We do not acknowledge Kingsley Ogga’s leadership. Ogga was expelled from the party in 2022, beginning at his ward, extending to the LGA, and ratified by the state executive. At no point was this suspension and expulsion overturned. Consequently, a party member whose membership is revoked is unequivocally excluded from the fold.

“We reaffirmed that Ogga’s suspension invalidates all his actions, and he is therefore unauthorized to represent our esteemed party.

“We urge security forces to assist in detaining him for impersonation. His persistent false claims as party chairman are inflicting significant harm on the party within the state, highlighting that Ogga has been falsifying party members’ signatures to advance his illicit activities.

“Moreover, in today’s meeting, we reviewed our stance and confirmed that the Member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Hon. Leke Abejide, remains the party leader, not only at the state level but also nationally.

“Leke Abejide is the sole elected party member throughout the nation, and thus his leadership position remains inviolable.”

The Kogi SWC further distanced themselves from the national coalition movement, remarking that at the opportune moment, the party will declare its stance on whom they will endorse.
