Police Procure Cutting Edge Technology to Tackle Crime

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have procured cutting-edge technological devices and applications for the Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) to enhance crime detection, prevention, and the expeditious apprehension of criminals.
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, announced that these tools are intended to strengthen the battle against violent crimes nationwide and to augment the intelligence-gathering capabilities of the Force.
A statement released on Saturday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, declared, “In a similar vein, the IGP has mandated the initiation of comprehensive training programs for personnel within the Force’s Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) in accordance with global intelligence standards. These intensive training programs are crafted to furnish them with the essential expertise to operate the newly deployed technologies, thereby ensuring the Force remains agile and proficient amidst evolving criminal trends and practices.
“The continuous evolution of crime dynamics globally and within Nigeria necessitates the timely and consistent endeavors of the IGP in refining and advancing police crime-fighting strategies to be intelligence and technology-driven.
The recent achievements, including the capture of a notorious arms-trafficking syndicate operating in Benue, Taraba, Adamawa, and Plateau States, along with numerous arrests in recent weeks, are all testaments to the enhanced efficacy of our intelligence-led policing.
“The Inspector-General of Police thus reaffirms the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force, under his stewardship, to instituting measures that prevent crimes and criminality nationwide, while assuring Nigerians of a robust response to emergent security threats.”
