Microsoft AI Expert Oyinbooke to Attempt Guinness World Record for 24-Hour App Development Marathon

Nigerian-born Microsoft AI expert and two-time Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP), Olanrewaju Oyinbooke, is set to attempt a groundbreaking feat in software development.
He will embark on a
24-hour non-stop programming challenge to develop 20 functional AI-powered applications within a single day.
The event, scheduled for November 28, 2025, will be streamed live globally and is positioned as an official attempt at setting a new Guinness World Record for the highest number of production-ready applications developed within 24 hours by an individual.
Oyinbooke’s mission is more than a personal milestone. Branded under the “Africa Dream Campaign,” the initiative is driven by the desire to demonstrate the power of African innovation and inspire a new generation of tech talent across the continent.
Each app created during the marathon will address practical challenges, including access to education, healthcare, agriculture, business tools, and community development—specifically tailored to solve problems within African societies.
“I want to prove that Africans can build globally relevant technology solutions with limited resources. This record attempt isn’t just about apps—it’s about what’s possible when we believe in our potential,” Oyinbooke said ahead of the challenge.
All proceeds generated from the event, including sponsorships and digital viewership support, will be used to fund the purchase of computers and provide digital literacy training in underserved rural African communities.
The funds will be managed in partnership with a registered non-governmental organization to ensure transparency and impact.
With over a decade of experience in AI development and enterprise solutions, Oyinbooke is known for using technology to drive social change. He has spoken at global tech summits and served as a consultant on AI adoption in education, health, and public service.
The 24-hour coding marathon will take place in Little Rock, Arkansas, under full observation and recording in line with Guinness World Records verification standards. Supporters and viewers across the globe will be able to follow the progress in real-time and engage with the applications being built.
Organizers hope the initiative not only earns a place in the record books but also becomes a rallying point for youth empowerment through tech. “If one person can build 20 apps in 24 hours, imagine what millions of young Africans can do with the right support,” Oyinbooke added.
The Africa Dream Campaign continues to position itself as a platform that amplifies the potential of African innovation, urging public and private stakeholders to invest in solutions that can transform communities through technology.
