The African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition in Abia expands, endorsing David Mark’s leadership.

The Abia State Chapter of the ADC has pledged its support for the party’s former National Working Committee, lauding their role in appointing interim National Chairman David Mark and advancing ongoing coalition discussions.

This declaration was made on Saturday in Umuahia during a comprehensive coalition assembly attended by ADC members and representatives from other political parties.

Following the meeting, a communiqué was issued by the Abia ADC, acknowledging the interim National Working Committee of the coalition ADC’s appointment of Iyke Nwoke as the interim Chairman for Abia State.

The communiqué, endorsed by former ADC governorship candidate Bishop Sunday Onuoha, Iyke Nwoke, and other signatories, identified Okey Ezeala as the interim State Secretary of ADC in Abia and commended Bishop Sunday Onuoha’s contributions to party unity.

However, they voiced disappointment over certain politicians who persist in their affiliations with previous political parties while professing membership in the ADC coalition.

He remarked, “The legitimate method of joining the coalition ADC is through registration at the ward level and aligning with the interim leadership, rather than indulging in grandstanding or speculative social media narratives.”

Addressing journalists during the meeting, Iyke Nwoke, the interim chairman of ADC in Abia, noted that a substantial number of Abia politicians are currently eager to join the ADC Coalition, asserting that his party remains unified in Abia.

He further asserted that the ongoing coalition discussions in Abia are poised to enable the ADC to secure electoral victories in the region by 2027.
