Pressuring Governors to Attend Public Functions Distracts their Performance, Says Yakubu Datti

Yakubu Dati, a former Commissioner for Information in Plateau State has said that governors often face pressure from certain quarters to participate in private social events like weddings and burials, which detracts from their primary duties.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise program on Saturday, Dati remarked that some people use these gatherings, rather than tangible projects, as a means of evaluating governors’ effectiveness during their tenure.
Nonetheless, he noted that there are governors who are indeed delivering vital services to their constituents, considering the prevailing difficulties in the nation.
