Aiyedatiwa Unveils ‘Ondo State for Tinubu 2027’ as Sole Campaign Platform, Reaffirms Loyalty to President

The Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, has reaffirmed the leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the central figure coordinating all political structures and campaign efforts in the state ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s anticipated second-term bid in 2027.

Speaking on Friday following a strategic meeting with leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Government House in Akure, Ajanaku revealed that Governor Aiyedatiwa officially launched the “Ondo State for Tinubu 2027” campaign platform, which will serve as the umbrella body for all pro-Tinubu support groups in the state.

The commissioner, in a statement described the move as not only constitutional but also strategic, aligning with the APC’s internal structure, which recognises sitting governors as party leaders in their respective states.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa bears the legitimate mandate to coordinate and streamline all campaign efforts in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu,” Ajanaku stated.

“This is not just a show of loyalty but a strategic move to prevent factionalism and promote unity within the party.”

The unveiling of the unified platform is expected to eliminate the proliferation of independent support groups that, while well-meaning, risk creating confusion or political disunity ahead of the 2027 elections.

Ajanaku underscored the long-standing political relationship between Governor Aiyedatiwa and President Tinubu, noting that their alliance dates back to 2012. According to him, this history of collaboration gives Aiyedatiwa a unique understanding of the president’s vision and governance philosophy.

“As someone who has worked closely with President Tinubu for over a decade, Governor Aiyedatiwa is the most qualified figure to lead the mobilisation in Ondo State,” the commissioner noted.

He urged all individuals and groups working to support President Tinubu’s re-election to do so under the newly inaugurated “Ondo State for Tinubu 2027” initiative and in accordance with the governor’s leadership.

The commissioner also warned against any parallel or unauthorised campaign structures that could lead to confusion or internal conflict within the APC in Ondo State.

“We welcome the enthusiasm of all support groups, but such activities must align with the governor’s leadership and the unified platform. This is the only way to ensure order, cohesion, and success as we prepare for the next political cycle,” Ajanaku cautioned.

With the 2027 elections on the horizon, the move signals early groundwork for a consolidated campaign strategy and highlights Governor Aiyedatiwa’s deepening role as a key political ally to President Tinubu within the South-West region.
