Lagos State Boosts Justice Delivery with New Fleet of Vehicles

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has donated seven new buses to the Ministry of Justice to enhance justice administration in the state.

The vehicles were handed over to the ministry through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro, welcomed the donation, describing it as a significant boost to justice delivery. He explained that the buses would improve the mobility of legal teams, ease transportation logistics for prosecutors and legal officers, and support timely trial processes.

Two of the buses will be used to transport suspects to and from courts, while another two will be allocated to the Special Taskforce on Human Trafficking. The remaining buses will enhance the mobility of legal teams across Lagos, improving overall operational efficiency.

The Executive Secretary of LSSTF, Abdurrazaq Balogun, noted that the donation highlights Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to institutional development and inter-agency collaboration. The gesture demonstrates the governor’s resolve to reinforce both the justice and security sectors.

The Controller of Corrections, George Daramola, appreciated the donation, stating that the buses designated for transporting inmates would enhance the safe and timely movement of inmates.

The Lagos State Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Hameed Oyenuga, thanked the governor, the attorney general, and LSSTF for the gesture. He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to promoting access to justice and stated that the vehicles would be deployed strategically to improve service delivery, especially in underserved areas.
