Presidential Aide, Onanuga Justifies Tinubu, Says He Deserves Two Terms

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has defended President Bola Tinubu’s administration against claims of marginalization and ethnic bias, stating that the president deserves to serve two terms in office, just like his predecessor.

During a recent interview with Trust Radio, Onanuga dismissed allegations that the North has been disadvantaged in federal appointments or developmental projects as “political mischief” aimed at undermining the president.

He argued that the criticisms are driven by political agendas and that some individuals have targeted the president because of his Southern origin.

Onanuga stated, “This President is a Nigerian. He deserves the same two terms that Buhari had. Let’s not sacrifice the country for personal ambition”. He challenged critics to provide accurate statistics, noting that development challenges, such as bad roads, exist across all regions of the country.

To counter the claims of marginalization, Onanuga pointed out that key security positions, including the National Security Adviser, Chief of Defence Staff, and the two Defence Ministers, are held by Northerners. He also cited improvements in security in parts of Kaduna State as evidence of the administration’s efforts, stating that places like Birnin Gwari and Igabi are now safer and that a drive from Kaduna to Abuja, once unthinkable, is now possible.
