APC Rebuffs PDP’s Call for REC’s Redeployment

The Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) demand for the redeployment of the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Anugbum Onuaha, ahead of the August 16 by-elections.
The APC described the PDP’s call as an attempt to find excuses for their anticipated defeat.
The APC, led by state chairman Jarret Tenebe, expressed confidence in its candidates, Hon. Joe Ikpea and Hon. Omosede Igbinedion, who are contesting for the vacant Senate and Federal House of Representatives seats.
Tenebe attributed the PDP’s fear to the unprecedented achievements of Governor Monday Okpebholo, which have led to a significant number of PDP members defecting to the APC.
The APC highlighted the governor’s initiatives, including lifesaving projects, improvement of infrastructure, and enhanced security measures.
The party also noted the massive recruitment of teachers to train pupils and students in public schools.
The APC is determined to prove its strength in the state, with the party’s leadership confident of securing a significant number of votes for its candidates. The party’s confidence stems from the governor’s achievements and the people’s trust in the APC’s leadership.
