NDE Commences Phase 2 Registration for Renewed Hope Employment Initiative

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has opened the online registration portal for the second phase of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative, a flagship job creation programme under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The exercise began on Monday, July 28, 2025, and is scheduled to run until August 11, 2025.

The initiative, aimed at tackling unemployment and promoting skill development among Nigerians, targets the training and empowerment of 27,000 unemployed individuals across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. It builds upon the success of the first phase, which reportedly engaged over 93,000 participants in various vocational, digital, agricultural, and public works programmes.

Applicants are required to be between 18 and 45 years of age, possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN), and reside in Nigeria. The training modules are designed to reflect local economic needs and opportunities, offering over 30 skill areas tailored to different states.

According to the NDE, registration is strictly online through the official portal www.nderegistrationportal.ng  and applicants are warned against falling victim to scammers or unofficial agents. The process is entirely free, and those who participated in the previous phase are ineligible for reapplication.

In Ekiti State, the NDE confirmed that a significant number of slots have been allocated for vocational and entrepreneurial training, with successful candidates expected to receive starter kits or soft loans to launch their businesses upon completion.

The Director-General of the NDE reiterated the agency’s commitment to transparency and inclusiveness, noting that the programme is being executed in collaboration with the Nigerian Data Protection Council (NDPC) to ensure the security of applicants’ information.

With over 16,000 registrations recorded within the first hour of the portal going live, the initiative has continued to draw interest nationwide. Stakeholders have been urged to support the programme and mobilise eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity.

The Renewed Hope Employment Initiative is a key component of President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s broader strategy to reduce poverty and unemployment while fostering economic self-reliance among citizens.
