EU Charges Temu with Alleged Violation of Digital Regulations

The European Union has charged the Chinese-origin e-commerce titan Temu with violating the bloc’s digital regulations by failing to adequately evaluate the risks posed by illicit products.
On Monday, the European Union leveled accusations against Temu, a prominent online shopping platform, asserting that it had transgressed the bloc’s digital mandates by neglecting to “properly” appraise the hazards associated with illegal merchandise.
The European Commission, in its preliminary assessment, stated, “Evidence indicates a significant risk for EU consumers encountering illegal goods on the platform.”
