Principal Santioned for Unauthorized Sale of School Assets in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Teachers’ Service Commission has mandated the immediate dismissal and demotion of Musa Ahmed Ningi, Principal of Government Day Secondary School, Kirfi, following accusations of egregious misconduct.
Accompanying him in his removal is the Senior Master, Malam Adamu Shehu, who has been discharged for conspiring in the unauthorized disposal of school assets.
This directive is articulated in a statement released on Thursday by the commission’s information officer, Dahiru Adamu.
Adamu stated: “The assets sold include 32 dismantled student beds, nine large aluminum pots, and an unspecified quantity of roofing zinc.”
Adamu further revealed that their dismissal was announced through a statement endorsed by the acting Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Garba Muhammad Bashe, who confirmed that both individuals were found culpable of the charges by a four-member panel tasked with the investigation.
Beyond their removal from administrative roles, both employees have been demoted by one grade level and will be reassigned to alternate schools as classroom teachers.
The Commission has also instructed the two individuals to jointly reimburse 597,000 Naira, representing the estimated worth of the sold items.
Moreover, the committee recommends that the former principal reimburse an additional 72,000 Naira to cover the arrears owed to the school’s casual laborers.
The commission has further assured all stakeholders of their unwavering commitment to recovering all vandalized items and has pledged collaboration with security agencies to fulfill this aim.
