NSCDC Issues Licenses to 28 Private Guard Companies

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has presented operating licenses to 28 newly registered private guard companies, urging them to enhance intelligence gathering efforts to combat rising insecurity in the country.
The licenses were presented at the Corps’ National Headquarters in Abuja.
NSCDC Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Audi, emphasized that the business of enhancing security is a collective responsibility, calling for prompt and timely intelligence gathering.
He noted that many of the companies’ CEOs are ex-servicemen with valuable experience and charged them to uphold integrity and professionalism.
The NSCDC emphasized that the licenses are not just for commercial gain but also a national security tool. The Corps will assess and rate the companies based on adherence to regulatory requirements, and future relationships will depend on their performance.
The issuance of licenses coincides with the launch of a Unified Training Curriculum aimed at ensuring uniformity in training across Nigeria. The NSCDC reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism and urged the companies to maintain integrity, impeccable character, and trustworthiness.
