Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has extended her heartfelt congratulations to the Super Falcons following their qualification for the final of the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament in Morocco, and has urged the team to go all out in their bid to clinch a record-extending tenth continental title.

In a statement released on Thursday, the First Lady lauded the determination and resilience of the Nigerian women’s national football team, describing their journey so far as inspiring and a source of national pride.

“Congratulations to our Super Falcons on qualifying for the WAFCON final. You have shown exceptional strength, courage and unity on your path to the top,” Mrs. Tinubu said.

Encouraging the players ahead of their decisive clash against the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco, the First Lady called on the team to maintain their fighting spirit and bring home the trophy. “#MissionX is on. Soar, Super Falcons!” she declared in a spirited message of support.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have long been the most dominant force in African women’s football, and a win in the final would mark their tenth WAFCON championship.

The final against host nation Morocco is expected to be a fiercely contested match, with both sides looking to make history.

Mrs. Tinubu’s message adds to a wave of national support pouring in for the team, as fans across the country rally behind the Falcons in anticipation of a victorious finish to their remarkable campaign in Morocco.
