A Lifetime of Service: BAT Ideological Group Congratulates Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda on APC Chairmanship

The BAT Ideological Group has extended heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on his election as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a milestone the group says reflects both merit and strategic timing.
In a congratulatory message delivered by Comrade Bamidele Atoyebi, the group emphasized Prof. Yilwatda’s calm intellect, decades of commitment, and alignment with the youthful energy and progressive values embodied by the BAT Ideology. “He has paid his dues in the party,” Atoyebi noted, “and now, as national chairman, we are confident he will elevate our collective vision.”
The new chairman, who was unanimously elected by the APC’s National Executive Committee during a NEC meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on July 24, 2025, brings to the role a rich background in both academia and public service. Before assuming this national leadership, he served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, and has previously held roles as Resident Electoral Commissioner in Benue State, ICT Director at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, and APC governorship candidate in Plateau State.
In his acceptance speech to party delegates, Prof. Yilwatda pledged unity, expansion, and inclusivity. “I pledge without hesitation that I will work with everybody in the party… we will expand the party with you,” he stated
The BAT Ideological Group offered prayers for a tenure “free of turbulence,” and reaffirmed readiness to support the new chairman’s policy direction and institutional strengthening. The group also expressed optimism that the APC under Prof. Yilwatda’s stewardship would consolidate its gains and deepen democratic practice.
“We wish him a turbulent-free tenure as we embark on the journey toward 2027,” Atoyebi added.
“He already saw the president’s vision and was running with it even as a minister. We’re confident he will do even more as National Chairman of our great party.”
