NNPC Declares N905bn Profit for June, Remits N6.96tn in Five Months

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has declared a profit after tax of ₦905 billion for the month of June 2025 and confirmed it remitted a total of ₦6.96 trillion to the Federation Account between January and May. According to the company’s June 2025 Financial and Operations Report, the profit represents a drop from the ₦1.054 trillion recorded in May, while monthly revenue also declined to ₦4.571 trillion in June from ₦6.008 trillion in the previous month. Despite the dip, the report showed improved operational performance across key sectors. Crude oil and condensate production rose to 1.68 million barrels per day (mbpd), the highest output since January, up from 1.629 mbpd in May. Natural gas production also increased to 7.581 billion standard cubic feet per day, compared to 7.352 billion in May. NNPC reported significant progress on its key infrastructure projects. The Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) gas pipeline reached 83 percent completion, while the Obiafu–Obrikom–Oben (OB3) pipeline project remained at 96 percent. The company confirmed the completion of the challenging AKK River Niger crossing and ongoing technical reviews on OB3. Petrol availability at NNPC retail stations improved from 62 percent in May to 71 percent in June, indicating more stable fuel supply nationwide. Upstream pipeline availability was reported at 97 percent, while gas processing facilities maintained 100 percent operational efficiency. The NNPC Foundation’s financial literacy programme reached over 67,000 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in June alone, bringing the total number of beneficiaries this year to 870,383. NNPC Ltd’s performance reinforces its central role in supporting the national economy through revenue generation and infrastructure development, even as the company transitions into a fully commercial entity under the Petroleum Industry Act.
